Vortigaunt Hierarchy are the "Ranks" of the Vortigaunts, but they technically speaking are not ranks and they are in-fact an indicator of the connection of the Vortigaunt to the Vortessence. In Order to advance in the Hierarchy, one must be taught by an Elder, or must have the approval of an Admin.
Youngling - Younglings are the Vortigaunts who barely have any connection to the Vortiessence at all. Younglings can sometimes know a few words in Vortigesse, but they are not very connected with the Vortessence. They are curious of the world, but also highly afraid. They are likely to retreat just when seeing a normal citizen.
Novice - Novice Vortigaunts are still learning the basics, they are less curious and afraid. They are likely to meditate and they ask many questions to the
Elders. These Vortigaunts may speak Vortigese Fluently and they may use the Illumination power, which makes their hands glow with a green light, allowing them to better see in the dark, they can also muster very weak, but still dangerous beams of Vortessence called the Vorti-blast, they are also slowly mastering the arts of Telepathy.
Apprentice - Apprentice Vortigaunts have a medium connection with the Vortiessence and slowly start opening their minds. Their powers grow stronger and they can also now Heal minor wounds, injuries and disease. With more power these Vortigaunts are a force to be reckoned with.
Adept - Adepts have a major connection to the Vortessence, they are able to call a shield, that can protect them or anyone behind them from any harm. The shields are known to stop all types of projectiles. Adepts are praised by their increasing skill in healing.
Elder - Elders are old Vortigaunts, now teaching the Vortiessence to younger ones due to their knowledge. They mastered all kinds of Vortessence power. They also gain a new, very strong power called: Nova Flare, by other people. The Nova Flare is seemingly a Vorti-Blast, but instead of killing the target, it sucks away a big part of Oxygen and Nourishment from the body, while also weaking the person hit, which makes the person fall over unconcious in just a second or two after being hit by a Nova Flare. The Victim wakes up to 1 hour later, hungry, tired and thirsty.
High Elder - High Elders are a force to be reckoned with and they are incredibly powerful, a Vortiblast launched by them is known to break bones and cause 3rd degree burn damage even to armored and augmented CP units.
Prophet - Prophet is one of a kind. Prophet is a High Elder, chosen by his Kin.A Prophet is usually not much more powerful than any other High Elder, but a Prophet is always wisest. While he DOES NOT LEAD the Vortigaunts directly, he oftenly helps with good advice and rules that one should follow for a better life, or betterment of some situation (to both Vortigaunts and Humans). A Prophet is as said, not leading the Vortigaunts as Vortigaunts have no leader, but instead a Prophet is seen as a wise person that anyone should go to if they need Advice, Encouragment or Help with anything. Just treat Prophets like a "Yoda" version of HL2RP.
